Dan Bray

Dan Bray, RN, CDIP, CCDS currently serves as the corporate clinical documentation integrity program manager for Cape Fear Valley Health System. He has worked as a consulting clinical documentation specialist (CDS) as interim CDS manager for several years at various large Level 1 teaching health systems across the country. He has over fourteen years of experience in the CDI field. He has over twenty years of nursing experience after serving as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy, stationed with the Marines in Asia. He has since worked in a variety of clinical settings ranging from Level 1 trauma emergency departments, teaching/university hospitals, cardiac cath labs, infectious diseases, hematology/oncology, med/surg, ortho, telemetry units, psychiatry (VA Hospital), and as a nurse auditor for a large NC health system. Dan has an innate ability to coordinate processes and extensive experience in leadership, process fine-tuning, program expansion, coding and interdepartmental partnership that improves a multitude of departments (HIM, Quality, Case Management, etc.), while creating an environment of unity, teamwork and overall growth.
