Delivering Recipe Quality Water™ for Beverage Applications
3M™ ScaleGard™ Blend Series Systems are designed for coffee, espresso, vending and steamer applications, delivering custom water quality by allowing operators to blend in the desired level of minerals for Recipe Quality Water™.
By adjusting the blend setting at the system head, the series helps balance water composition to support beverage taste consistency while addressing common water quality challenges in commercial foodservice environments.
Controlled Blending with Simple Maintenance
ScaleGard™ Blend Series Systems use a Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) encapsulated cartridge design to support fast, clean, tool-free cartridge change-outs, helping reduce maintenance effort and operational downtime.
The system head retains blend settings during cartridge replacement, allowing consistent water quality to be maintained across service intervals.
Performance Across the Series
Across the family, systems are rated at 1 μm with a consistent flow rate of 0.5 gpm (1.9 l/min) and 3/8 in NPT inlet and outlet connections, with capacity options varying by model from 530 to 1,249 US gallons at 11 gpg hardness.
These configurations support a range of site demands, from smaller beverage stations to higher-volume commercial applications.
Water Quality Benefits
The systems help reduce chlorine taste and odour and chloramines, which can react with metal, plastic and rubber materials and may potentially contribute to equipment wear or damage.
Individual models within the series are referenced as tested and certified to NSF/ANSI 42 and NSF/ANSI 372 for the reduction of substances listed in the applicable Performance Data Sheet. The system does not reduce all substances that may be present in water.
