Tina Hankins

Tina Hankins, MSN, RN, CCDS-O, CCDS, has more than 23 years of combined IT professional and clinical experience. Her career began as an IT support professional where she quickly realized she enjoyed solving issues that made customers happy.

She spent over nine years in computer/network management and support roles. Her passion for helping others moved her to explore a degree in nursing and opportunities in the clinical field. She spent the next 10 years in the hospital setting from ICU nursing, nursing education and on to being a key liaison in assisting her organization’s transition from paper charting to its first electronic health record (EMR). This transition further encouraged her to obtain a Master of Nursing in clinical informatics. She concurrently obtained certifications in EHR applications such as EPIC and managed clinical workflows of other EHRs for physician charting, nursing flowsheets, OR care management, ER care management and anesthesia.

She has an extensive professional history in clinical care management, IT development and both clinical/IT support roles. She currently serves as a clinical analyst for Solventum and specializes in outpatient CDI content development as co-lead and as lead for international CDI content development. Her experience has allowed her to identify gaps in collaboration and communication between clinicians and the everyday technical applications being utilized by organizations for clinical documentation. The ability to identify these issues helps her to be creative in the delivery of both content and collaboration to help achieve clinician documentation needs.
