3M™ LifeASSURE™ IMC Series Filter Cartridges are naturally hydrophilic Nylon 6,6 filter elements built to meet the exacting requirements of DI water, critical parts cleaning and chemical applications. Using a multi-zone microporous membrane and Advanced Pleat Technology (APT), these high-efficiency filter cartridges provide superior flow with minimal pressure drop, reducing filtration operation costs.

3M™ LifeASSURE™ IMC Series Filter Cartridge
3M™ LifeASSURE™ IMC Series Filter Cartridges incorporate 3M multi-zone microporous membrane technology. This design features a microporous membrane consisting of a higher porosity zone on the upstream section that provides effective pre-filtration of large particles while a lower porosity section on the downstream side provides a sharp retention cut-off at the rated pore size. This efficient multi-zone structure enhances the surface area, lowers pressure drop and increases contaminant holding capacity and filter lifetime, thereby eliminating the need for multiple filters to achieve the same result.
For existing applications at a given flow rate, filter cartridges with more surface area per cartridge have a lower flux than ones with less surface area. Since filter lifetime is inversely proportional to flux in most applications, 3M™ LifeASSURE™ IMC Series Filter Cartridges provide longer life and require fewer cartridge change-outs.
A high flow rate and constant pressure drop of 3M™ LifeASSURE™ IMC Series Filter Cartridges will also help reduce industrial filtration costs since fewer filters are required for the filtration system. This allows for the use of smaller and less costly filter housings, reducing initial capital investment, filter change-out time and total cost of ownership for the life of the process.
- No IPA pre-wetting required, which avoids a potential source of contamination and chemical interaction, while reducing downtime and hazardous waste disposal
- Reduces potential for micro-bubble formation by not de-wetting in outgassing fluid unlike hydrophobic membranes such as Polypropylene, Polyethylene or PTFE
