3M™ LifeASSURE™ BA Series Filter Cartridges are nylon 6,6 single-zone microporous pleated membrane filter cartridges used for final filtration in food and beverage and industrial applications. These microporous membrane filters can be used instead of pasteurization and are designed to provide a long service life with excellent microorganism retention.

3M™ LifeASSURE™ BA Series Filter Cartridges have a high surface area that results in a low face velocity and greater throughput for a long filter life and fewer cartridge change-outs. They can withstand a mild alkaline flush after each day’s run for improved throughputs.

The non-charge modified single-layer nylon 6,6 microporous membrane helps reduce the risk of pigment binding in beverages like beer and wine. These filters have a high retention rate that traps microorganisms or spoilage organisms on the filter surface as the beverage is filtered.

Users can integrity test 3M™ LifeASSURE™ BA Series Filter Cartridges using bubble point pressure, diffusive flow or pressure hold procedures while the filters are in the housing to help ensure proper filter installation and performance.

3M™ LifeASSURE™ BA Series Filter Cartridges can be used for a variety of beverage and industrial filtration applications including wine, beer, water, soft drinks, process water, hard alcohol, syrups, dyes and intermediates.

3M™ LifeASSURE™ BA Series Filter Cartridges are constructed of a single-layer, reinforced nylon 6,6 microporous membrane pleated with polypropylene upstream and downstream support materials. The cage, core and end-cap adapters are made of polypropylene. Multiple length cartridges with industry standard connectionstyles are produced to fit the most widely used housing designs and system sizes without adding resin or binder compounds. Cartridges are manufactured under an ISO 9001-certified quality system using the most advanced thermoplastic welding techniques for filter integrity. 3M™ LifeASSURE™ BA Series Filter Cartridges are 100% integrity tested after manufacture to ensure quality.

When combined with 3M™ LifeASSURE™ BLA Series Filter Cartridges as a prefilter, 3M™ LifeASSURE™ BA Series Filter Cartridges provide an exceptionally long service life for your beverage filtration system.

In many food and beverage applications, the final membrane filters tend to plug by the gradual constriction of the pores with colloidal materials, not by the collection of fine particulate or microorganisms on the membrane surface. These colloidal substances are composed of various naturally occurring organic substances in the malt or fruit based beverage. These organic substances include beta-glucans, proteins, tannins and carbohydrates. These materials are either inherent in the malt or fruit or are generated in upstream processes such as fermentation and the enzymatic breakdown of carbohydrates and other components.
