New Solventum facilities drive the future of healthcare

As Solventum marks two years as an independent company, we are building on a 70-year legacy of innovation and continuing to invest in our effort to shape the future of healthcare. With the grand openings of our new Eagan Hub in Minnesota and manufacturing plant expansion in Brookings, South Dakota, we can better transition new ideas from the research lab to the production floor and ultimately to the hands of clinicians, enabling them to change lives.
Creating an engine for global discovery
Minnesota holds a rich history of scientific advancement and healthcare leadership, and our connection to this region runs deep. Our new Eagan Hub stands as the centerpiece of our ongoing commitment. This 250,000-square-foot facility serves as our flagship research and development center of excellence. It’s a place where more than 2,000 local solvers and visitors can come together in a collaborative environment.

We designed the Eagan Hub specifically to accelerate the pace of innovation. The facility features state-of-the-art laboratories, modern workspaces and a dedicated pilot factory. When clinicians share their everyday clinical challenges with us, the Eagan teams can quickly test new concepts and build prototypes. They can transition ideas from the whiteboard to the testing phase with unprecedented speed.
A specialized quality lab ensures every new device meets the rigorous industry standards clinicians expect. When treating hard-to-heal wounds or securing critical IV lines, healthcare providers need absolute reliability. The Eagan Hub empowers us to deliver that reliability while feeding a steady pipeline of up to 20 new product innovations over the next two years. These discoveries will soon flow from our Minnesota labs to our manufacturing sites and out to hospitals worldwide.

Scaling breakthroughs in South Dakota
Great ideas require exceptional execution. While the Eagan Hub focuses on research and design, our manufacturing teams ensure those innovations actually reach the clinicians who need them. To support our expanding portfolio of products, we also recently completed a significant expansion at our manufacturing plant in Brookings, South Dakota.
The Brookings plant is our largest manufacturing facility for essential medical supplies. With more than 1,200 employees, this site serves as the backbone of our global supply chain. The massive expansion adds 200,000 square feet of manufacturing space, 16 additional shipping docks and an 8,000-pallet warehouse.
This increased capacity allows us to meet growing global demand without missing a beat. The Brookings expansion helps ensure that we can produce and deliver our large portfolio of critical medical and surgical supplies consistently, including the equipment needed to maintain a sterile and safe environment for care and healing. It ultimately creates a seamless bridge between the visionary research happening in Eagan and the practical realities of patient care in a hospital or clinic.
