About the product
3M™ LifeASSURE™ BFS Series Filter Cartridges are PTFE microporous hydrophobic straight pleat membrane filters used in processes requiring 0.2 µm sterile and microbial-rated air filtration for food and beverage, microelectronics and other industrial applications. Offering excellent air flow for vent filter assemblies, they prevent moisture blockage to increase the throughput and filter life.

3M™ LifeASSURE™ BFS Series Filter Cartridge
3M™ LifeASSURE™ BFS Series Filter Cartridges are made with a hydrophobic PTFE membrane. The inner and outer non-woven polypropylene layers provide upstream and downstream support which allow better flow access through the membrane pleats. A second polypropylene downstream flow distribution layer further enhances airflow. Available in 10, 20 and 30-inch sizes, these filter cartridges have a standard straight pleat and a filter rating of 0.2 µm, allowing them to be used for sterilization.
The cartridge hardware components consist of an inner and outer cage made of molded polypropylene. End cap adapters and O-ring adapters are also constructed of polypropylene and contain a 316 stainless steel ring or an embedded polyethersulfone (PES) core for structural stability. All filter cartridge components are assembled by thermal bonding.
- PTFE microporous straight pleated membrane filter cartridges for sterile air/gas filtration
- Qualified for Log Reduction Values (LRV) in excess of 7 with Brevundimonas diminuta (B. diminuta)
- Hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane increases throughput and filter life in wet or dry conditions
- 100% forward flow integrity tested prior to shipping
- Standard straight pleat design available in 10, 20, 30-inch sizes

- Microelectronics: High purity chemicals, organic solvents, photoresists, anti-reflective coatings, plating solutions
- Other industrial applications that require sterile or microbial-rated air filtration and/or sterile filtration of aggressive liquids
