Combining the benefits of 3M™ V.A.C.® Therapy and silver in one dressing

Providing an effective barrier to bacterial penetration, 3M™ V.A.C.® Granufoam Silver™ Dressings can help reduce infection in chronic, acute, traumatic, subacute and dehisced wounds, partial thickness burns, ulcers, flaps and grafts. Our silver foam dressings come in direct contact with the wound, eliminating the need for additional silver dressing layers that may inhibit negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) and granulation while allowing for uniform distribution of silver in one dressing.

Uniform silver distribution

Exposing the wound bed to silver even after sizing, the 3M™ V.A.C.® Granufoam Silver™ Dressing contains 99.9% pure micro-bonded metallic silver that is distributed throughout the dressing.

Effective protection and pathogen reduction

Helping to reduce wound infections, the dressing has protective silver ions that reduce 99.9% of aerobic, gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, antibiotic-resistant bacteria and fungal organisms within the first 24 hours.5

Engineered with hydrophobic silver-bonded polyurethane ether foam, our 3M™ V.A.C.® Granufoam Silver™ Dressings contain micro-bonded metallic silver particles (400-600 microns in size), which are uniformly distributed throughout the dressings, providing silver even after sizing.
The only silver dressing engineered specifically for 3M™ V.A.C.® Therapy Systems, providing an effective barrier to bacterial penetration and may help reduce infection in chronic, acute, traumatic, subacute, dehisced wounds; partial-thickness burns; ulcers; flaps and grafts.
  • Effective protection — Based on microbial testing, our silver foam dressing effectively creates a barrier against bacterial penetration and the protective silver ion reduces aerobic, gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, helping to reduce wound infections.
