About the product

Designed to bind, adsorb and trap odors1 and bacterial endotoxins that can disrupt the wound healing process,2 the 3M™ Actisorb™ Silver 220 Dressing is an activated charcoal dressing with silver, enclosed in a non-adherent nylon sleeve. It provides an effective barrier to bacterial penetration, which can help reduce infection in partial- and full-thickness wounds.

Offering a reliable wound care solution, the 3M™ Actisorb™ Silver 220 Dressing has a triple-action formulation that combines the power of silver and activated charcoal to provide antimicrobial protection.* The silver effectively controls bacteria within the dressing and manages exudate levels, helping to maintain a moist environment that’s conducive to healing. The activated charcoal traps odors1 and binds bacteria and bacterial toxins that impair the wound healing process,2 helping to improve your patients’ comfort and quality of life. The dressing also features an outer nylon envelope that enables easy removal from most wounds while reducing the risk of adherence or trauma. *Tested in vitro
  • Activated charcoal in the dressing traps odors inside the dressing¹ and binds bacteria and toxins that impair the wound healing process.2
  • The Silver in the dressing binds, adsorbs and traps bacterial endotoxins (in vitro study) that can disrupt the healing process.2
  • Manages exudate and helps maintain a moist wound healing environment.
  • Outer nylon envelope enables easy removal from the majority of wounds without adherence or trauma.

Suggested Applications

  • Actisorb Silver in the dressings may help reduce infection in partial- and full-thickness wounds including pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, donor sites and surgical wounds.
  • Management of all chronic wounds including fungating carcinomas, traumatic and surgical wounds where bacterial contamination, infection or odor occurs.
  • The Silver in the dressing is suitable for use under compression bandaging and can be folded around Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastronomy (PEG) sites.
  • Can be used in combination with a secondary dressing and a non-adherent contact layer (for lightly exuding wounds).
