Apply tape to skin without pulling or stretching

Apply tape to skin without pulling or stretching

Pulling or stretching during application may result in tension blisters as tape attempts to return to its original state.

Apply firm pressure to activate the adhesive and fully contact skin

Acrylate adhesives are pressure sensitive.

To remove, loosen the tape’s leading edge

To remove, loosen the tape’s leading edge

Do not pull the tape perpendicular to the skin. For tape that is strongly adhered to the skin, consider using a medical-grade adhesive remover to soften the adhesive along the peel line.

Remove the tape “low and slow”

Remove the tape “low and slow”

Stabilize the skin with one finger at the peel line and continuously move it along the peel line (ideally in the direction of hair growth) to support the skin during removal.

  • Conformable — multidirectional stretch accommodates swelling and movement.
  • Tape material — elastic foam not made with natural rubber latex.
  • Provides cushioning.

Suggested Applications

  • Flexible securement.
  • Use when swelling or movement is anticipated.
  • Securing dressings, including added pressure dressings.
  • Secondary securement for I.V. lines and tubing, central venous catheters, chest tubes and surgical drain tubes.
