About the product
This non-sterile roll version of Tegaderm Transparent film dressing provides a bacterial and viral barrier while fixating medical devices and primary dressings to the skin. It may be worn during bathing or showering.
Product details
- Waterproof barrier: protects from external contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, blood and body fluids. In vitro testing shows that the transparent film provides a viral barrier from viruses 27 nm in diameter or larger.
- Can be cut and customized to desired length and shape. Easy to apply with gloved hands.
- Breathable film lets oxygen in and moisture vapor out.
- Conformable film flexes with skin for greater patient comfort.
- Radiologically transparent – Do not have to remove for diagnostic x-ray or radiation therapy. Does not act as a bolus material, with or without CNSBF.
- May be worn up to 7 days
- Application frame makes placement accurate and easy, minimizing potential to stick to gloves or to itself.
Suggested Applications
- Hold primary wound dressings and/or non-sterile medical devices securely to skin
- Secondary dressing over alginates, hydrogels, and gauze or for other applications where non-sterile tape would be used
- Skin protection
- Protect intact skin during negative pressure wound therapy, e.g. periwound skin
- Protective eyelid coverings
- Protect temporary skin markings used for radiation therapy
- Post tattoo application and removal
- Can be used for fixation of non-critical medical devices or infusion tubing
