Responsible end of life handling for used Prevena Therapy Units
By participating in the Prevena Therapy Recycling program, your hospital can contribute to responsible end-of-life handling of used units. Where infrastructure allows, this supports efforts to reduce landfill waste.*
Note: Prevena™ Canisters and Dressings cannot be recycled as part of this program and should be disposed of via clinical waste.

The program is currently available in the UK only. We will be adding Ireland and Germany by early 2026 with plans to expand coverage across Europe throughout the year.
The following items are eligible for recycling:

No, the boxes are designed to be manageable in both size and weight. Each box is roughly the size of a 50-litre bin, ensuring it takes up minimal floor space and will not exceed 30kg when full.
No special cleaning is required. We cannot accept any contaminated items, so we ask that canisters and dressings are disposed of via standard clinical waste.
You can package the units in the collection box provided by Solventum. Additional instructions will be sent from our recycling partner, along with the prepaid postage label.
Our recycling partner will contact you within 48 hours of your collection request to provide authorisation. You will then be able to:
- Print a prepaid postage form and drop off the parcel at an authorised collection point, or
- Arrange a carrier pickup at a time that is convenient for you.
Returned units are assessed and processed by our recycling partner in accordance with all applicable local laws relating to Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (“WEEE”). Wherever local infrastructure allows, materials are recycled. Outcomes may vary by country.
