As many of you may know, our dear friend and long-time PR lead, Mollie Houns, will retire on June 30. For several decades, Mollie and her PriceHouns team have successfully led our trade media relations, along with speakers’ bureau and the creation of our popular Inside Angle blog and podcast.

Mollie’s meticulous work, deep knowledge, upbeat and client-centered approach helped define 3M HIS in the minds of writers, editors and bloggers. Along the way, she influenced countless marketing, communications and business leaders within the division with her encouragement to tell our clients’ stories, get past the features and functionality jargon and into the heart of our technology’s ability to transform.

I’ve been privileged to work along side her since 2012 and know the work she pioneered will live on for 3M HIS for years to come, as will the strong media relationships she built. As she transitions her media connections to our incoming PR firm, the mark she made is evident from their responses:

  • Brian Murphy, ACDIS Director: Congratulations on an amazing career Mollie… thanks for all your generosity and help over the many years. You set me up with many interviews at many tradeshows, and helped make our relationship with 3M a great one in countless other ways.

  • Mike Millard, Healthcare IT News executive editor: Congratulations, Mollie! Very well-deserved. I hope you enjoy a long and fun-filled retirement. It’s been great to work with you over the years!

  • Lee DeOrio, For the Record editor: Bittersweet is the perfect way to describe it on my end, although the more I think about it, I’m going to go with just plain old “SWEET” all caps. Professional and friendly are the two words that immediately spring to mind. I wish you lots of good times ahead Mollie.

As she heads out, trekking across northern America this summer with her husband, Larry, we want to be sure she knows how much we appreciate her.

Thanks for everything, Mollie. Truly.
